Awards
Cape Mental Health has received the following awards:
In February 2007 the Impumelelo Innovations Award Trust awarded a Silver Award to our organisation's Sexual Abuse Victim Empowerment programme for its innovative work in the field of poverty reduction and community development.
Hamlet Foundation Award 2005, for Claudine Morta (a senior staff member at Training Workshops Unlimited) for her outstanding contribution to the field of Intellectual Disability.
The Vodacom Foundation Award 2005, in acknowledgement of the outstanding community work done by Training Workshops Unlimited in the field of providing training and work opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Our Learning for Life programme as well as a number of our psycho-social rehabilitation programmes were cited as “Best Practice” examples by the Directorate Human Rights Programmes and the Provincial Administration Western Cape in their publication Celebrating Disability in Our Decade of Democracy 1994 – 2004.
In February 2003 the Impumelelo Innovations Award Trust awarded Learning for Life a Certificate of Excellence for its contribution to poverty reduction and community development in SA.
