By leaving a bequest to our organisation, you are making a gift that will be a lasting tribute to your caring and compassion. If you are considering making a bequest to Cape Mental Health Society, please contact our Bequest Officer, Mrs Ascencia Tebbutt at tel. (021) 447 9040, or email
Volunteers play an enormous role in helping us deliver services. If you have a passion for working with people with mental disabilities or for promoting mental health, your energy, skills and time would be greatly appreciated in one of our programmes. To participate in our volunteer programme, you will undergo a selection process as well as training.
We also need volunteers for fundraising activities like the annual Kite Festival (usually in October) and Street Collection (usually March). You could also help to paint, fix-up or garden during one of our Maintenance Days. For more information on the GreaterGood Do-It-Days and Care and Share initiatives from which we benefit, please refer to www.GreaterGoodSA.co.za.
For more details, contact: Birgit Schweizer at tel. (021) 447 9040 or email .
If you are in a position to donate an item or items to Cape Mental Health, please feel free to contact us to find out what our present needs are. Items that are generally in demand range from good new or second hand clothing to furniture and kitchen appliances. Donations of new (or nearly new) computers are also welcome.
The maintenance of our Special Care Centres, Training Centres and other facilities is an ongoing concern, so that donations of paint are much in demand. Even better, you could donate your maintenance or decorating expertise, or your services as a plumber, electrician or security / burglar proofing specialist, to keep these facilities safe and in good condition.
We also have to maintain the fleet of cars used by our Social Workers, and the minibuses used to transport intellectually disabled children to and from our Special Care Centres. If you or your company can donate your vehicle maintenance services, we would be very grateful.
